if it's JAZZ / CABARET / CLASS / GROOVE with SOUL then it's I.SJ

Irene started her career singing on children’s TV at the age of 13. As a teenager she joined the sixties pop group revolution and became the lead singer in various show bands gaining vast experience performing in hotels and clubs around Sydney and touring extensively throughout Asia and New Zealand. Irene made six ’tours of Vietnam’ from 1969 / 73.

It wasn’t long before offers came for her to perform solo on the prestigious Hilton and Inter-Continental Hotel circuit in Asia. She has, since then, regularly returned to these venues and many more including Japan, Okinawa, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, Guam and over 20 visits to The Philippines. During these tours Irene supported many top line artists including Johnny Mathis and Ray Charles.

Her style of music now covers many different genres including musical comedy, cabaret, rock, pop, country and jazz, her favourite love. Irene is the consummate professional with a wealth of experience to draw from. Her performance is a delight to behold and wins any audience, in any age group. In fact Irenes range and style has her enjoying life not only as a band singer, but as a cabaret floor show professional, a compere, a host and band leader... infact whatever the venue ... be it Hotel, Club, Cruise Ship, Casino, Dance Hall or Nightclub ... Irene has a repetoire to match. Irene works with the best Sydney musicians money can't buy.

IRENE ST JOHN a truly class act. Just listen to the songs and you will have to agree.

Hi I.SJ Friends and Folks,

"Irene's been recovering from a severly damaged back and broken leg, so the past three plus months have not been fun for her. But now she's coming back and from December 2006 will be gigging once more. 'ALVA' that's the 'Australian Ladies Variety Association' a wonderful charity set up to help Female Performers during times of distress, of which Irene was virtually one of the founding members, have been absolutely marvellous in their assistance in her rehabilitation.

She's been walking with crutches given to her by Tabby, wife of 'IVE BEEN EVERYWHERE MAN' songwriter Geoff Mack. Endless phone calls from her life long friend Maria Venuti, who was travelling the world and loving Italy while Irene was in hospital. Infact Irene's daughter Breanne and closest friend Margaret were also travelling overseas, a trip Irene may well have been on if not for her accident. But hurrah she's on the right road and soon we'll hear her singing once again. We've missed you Irene get those lungs pumping and those legs moving so we can all enjoy your special talent.

With Luv JohnB xxx"
